Asheville Childbirth Class - Preparing You for Your Best Birth Experience
Our dynamic Labor & Delivery Nurse/Certified Doula team, Elizabeth & Christine, teach this comprehensive childbirth class. Preparing for Birth covers what to expect during your upcoming birth and how to cope with common discomforts. This class is perfect for first-time parents or anyone needing a refresher before welcoming another child.
You’ll learn about the stages and phases of labor, ways to manage the discomfort during each, and will be able to practice some simple ways to ease discomfort that is common towards the end of pregnancy and during labor. We’ll talk about non-medical and medical pain relief options and discuss ways to promote comfort, relaxation, and encourage labor progress with or without an epidural and whether you have a vaginal or cesarean birth.
You can expect evidence-based information presented without any bias for or against any choice you may make about your pregnancy, birth, or parenting.
The course fee includes an 80-page reference book to refer back to throughout your pregnancy and as you adjust to life with your newborn.

About the Instructors
Christine and Elizabeth are both certified doulas and co-own Doulas of Asheville. Combined, they've supported Hundreds of families through birth and the transition to life with babies.

Elizabeth (left) is a BSN-RN and currently a Labor & Delivery Nurse at Mission Hospital in addition to owning Doulas of Asheville. She is a CAPPA Certified Labor Doula, ProDoula Pre-Certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula, Placenta Encapsulator, and Childbirth Educator. Learn more about Elizabeth here.
Christine (right) is a CAPPA Certified Labor Doula, ProDoula Pre-Certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula and Placenta Encapsulator, Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis Doula, and Certified Happiest Baby Educator.
